Yemen rebels say raid destroys airport navigation aids

Malnutrition is increasingly common in Yemen particularly among children

Now, as per recent reports, Saudi Arabia has, on Monday, said that the Saudi-led coalition will begin to reopen the seaports and airports of the war-torn country. The missile was intercepted near the capital of the country. The Houthis control most of northern Yemen.

"The flights will increase gradually in the coming days", the official said, noting Yemenia would resume its four weekly flights from Aden to Cairo, two to Jeddah and Riyadh, three to Amman and one to Khartoum.

The World Health Organization has estimated that more than 5,00,000 Yemenis have been infected with cholera this year.

Those ports are in Yemeni cities of Aden, Mocha and Mukalla.

The Houthi-run General Authority for Civil Aviation said in a statement the air strike "led to the total destruction of the VOR/DME radio navigation system, taking it offline and thus halting the only flights at Sanaa airport - those of the United Nations and other worldwide organisations delivering humanitarian assistance".

They say the Tuesday airstrikes will hinder the airport's operation but that fix crews are at work.

On Monday, Saudi Arabia's United Nations ambassador said the coalition would take steps to ease the blockade but would not reopen a key rebel-held port to aid shipments unless tighter inspections were put in place.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has repeatedly called on the Saudi regime to allow aid into Yemen, but they are often met with silence or excuses. "This will have no impact on our operations once they resume", Mr McGoldrick said.

India's trade deficit widens to near 3-year high in October
While engineering goods, one of the top exports from India, continued to increase, there was a slowdown in pace. It had stood at almost $9 billion in September and $11.1 billion in the year-ago period.

The ports were closed after Houthis attacked Riyadh near its global airport through a ballistic missile on November 4.

The coalition said on Monday it would re-open ports in areas held by allied forces.

The blockade "is complicating what is already a catastrophic situation", McGoldrick said.

Saudi Arabia announced it shut down all ports after a November 4 ballistic missile attack on Riyadh near its worldwide airport by the Shiite rebels known as Houthis. The war is being waged between the internationally recognized government of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and the Houthi movement backed by army units loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
