Arsene Wenger rejects Jose Mourinho's jibe at Alexandre Lacazette recovery

Furious Arsène Wenger has himself to blame for Arsenal gaffes

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino may have accepted his team are not in the title race anymore, but Wenger has not and I think you could argue that Arsenal have deserved more points this season while the spuds have got just wjhat they deserved.

Wenger had ruled the France forward out of Saturday's visit of Mourinho's Manchester United only to name him in the starting line-up.

Wenger, speaking ahead of Arsenal's final Europa League group game at home to BATE Borisov, was asked about Mourinho's comments and said he was genuinely expecting to go into the United game without his club-record signing.

MI at Ohio State
Ohio State actually projects him to cornerback and he can also provide some special teams value immediately in the return game. MI regained the lead 60-56 with a 7-0 run, but the Buckeyes outscored the Wolverines 14-2 the rest of the way.

A recurring theme has been played out at Arsenal for more than a decade and it involves every best laid plan being undone by calamitous defending and eventually returning to the same question, one that Arsène Wenger has obstinately been unable to address.

"I am very angry because the team produced a quality performance with desire, they were strong mentally and overall in a game of that stature to have 33 shots on goal and nothing to show for it..."

'In the end he could play. Leave him at home?

'The truth is Eric Bailly no chance for the weekend, Phil Jones a chance, [Marouane] Fellaini a chance, Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] a big chance, Matic is injured but will play for sure, I'm telling the truth but he will play for sure, [Michael] Carrick no chance, ' the Portuguese said. After, he had a test on Friday morning and went to the game. But he was fine and that's football'.

"I don't worry about that", he said. "We had the ball against the post, we had this last situation with [Romelu] Lukaku facing Petr Cech and, of course, they [Arsenal] can say they had chances but we fought and we had a great goalkeeper too and I think we deserve [the win]." .

"If I am a player, and I think with what we produced, we have a huge potential, and we lose the game, we can not accept that. It's like the FA Cup, it's important we have a go and give absolutely everything".
