What's up with That Familiar 'Face' in Alex Garland's Annihilation

Paramount Pictures has revealed the second trailer for Annihilation, an upcoming sci-fi film.

Though Annihilation, published in 2014, is slightly more accessible than VanderMeer's earlier work, it's still as purposefully opaque and discomfiting as a best-selling novel can be.

It opens with a scientist (Benedict Wong) questioning Natalie Portman's character, the Biologist, who asks her to start from the beginning. The biologist is joined by an anthropologist, a psychologist and a surveyor.

Showing too much. From an interesting sci-fi film to a horror film.

Nagarkurnool Murder Mystery: Mutton Soup Exposes Swathi Reddy Chilling Crime
Swathi was arrested Sunday and Rajesh Reddy would be arrested once he is discharged from the hospital, Shingvenar said. An official involved in the investigation said , "It was then, the family began suspecting him".

In an effort to find out what happened to her husband, Portman's character, simply referred to as the biologist, enters an environmental disaster zone where she encounters a number of odd plants, animals and other life forces that she wasn't prepared for. To do this, she and a team must venture into a mysterious area filled with beauty and something unsafe.

That's just about all you need to know before firing this one up.

Annihilation is one of the smartest and creepiest science fiction books I've ever read.

In September, Paramount released the first trailer for Ex Machina director Alex Garland's next science fiction thriller Annihilation, showing off an expedition entering a weird world.

Mom's motives questioned after bullied boy's video goes viral
It's supposed to show people taking a stand against bullying and them supporting someone who is being bullied. As I sit back and read these comments and watched the video again I feel I have to make this update.

Ex Machina left little doubt that Alex Garland was willing to take on some odd tales.

Intriguing, right? So, there seems to be some type of alien creature that's possibly using humans (DNA?) to recreate itself or make some new, indestructible species, and the area it inhabits looks like an impressionist version of reality, called "The Shimmer".

Annihilation arrives in USA theaters on February 23, 2018.
