AFTRA Looking Into 'All The Money In The World' Pay Disparity Claims

All The Money In The World

Actress Michelle Williams was reportedly paid less than 1% of co-star Mark Wahlberg's salary for a 10-day re-shoot on "All the Money in the World".

It's just one more case study of Hollywood's persistent gender pay gap.

The film made the headlines past year when Scott chose to reshoot Kevin Spacey's scenes following allegations of sexual harassment against the actor. When it was quickly decided that Imperative Entertainment was going to finance reshoots (Sony did not finance) after Plummer replaced Spacey, Wahlberg was already working on his next project Mile 22.

Voters Wary of Trump, Confident in Economy
Quinnipiac conducted its poll surveying 1,106 American voters from January 5 to 9. "A" and "B" received 16 percent each with 11 percent giving Trump a "C".

However, the crucial aspect of payment for the reshoots, which cost a reported $10 million in all, appear to be written into the actors' contracts, which go some way to explaining the pay disparity. The filmmaker, cast and crew raced to reshoot scenes in November (17) in an ambitious attempt to keep to the movie's December release schedule, and Michelle confesses it was her daughter, Matilda, who pushed her to go back to work over the US holiday.

In December, Scott told USA Today that all the actors, minus Plummer, "came in free" and agreed to work for nothing. He told The Guardian the same thing on Sunday. "Because all of them, everyone did it for nothing", Scott told USA Today.

Once the film's producers and Wahlberg's reps began speaking, the agents allegedly demanded the fee he received, threatening that he'd refuse to shoot if they didn't pay up.

Grassley: Hope Trump doesn't call me about Russian Federation probe
And it has hurt our government. "When they have no collusion, and nobody has found any collusion at any level, it seems unlikely you'd even have an interview", Trump pointed out.

"They all came in free", Scott said. Adding to the anger, Scott had previously said that the actors did the reshoots "for nothing" - meaning union minimums - and Williams and Wahlberg are both represented by the William Morris Endeavor agency. It based the report on "three people familiar with the situation but not authorised to speak publicly about it". Jessica Chastain, now starring in the Golden Globe-nominated "Molly's Game", called Williams a "brilliant" actress who "deserves more". The very same one that helped Wahlberg earn the top spot of Forbes' World's highest-paid actors of 2017 list at $68 million and Emma Stone land at the top of the highest-paid actress list with less than half of that at $26 million. He is known for "driving a tough bargain" according to The Washington Post.

As per a report by USA Today, Mark Wahlberg's team negotiated a hefty deal after they were approached for sudden re-shoots.

"They could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted", she said of what she was willing to do for the reshoots. "Because I appreciated so much that they were making this massive effort".
