Angelique Kerber registers 8th consecutive win, enters Sydney International final

Barty books all-Aussie semifinal against Gavrilova, clears Strycova in Sydney

Former world number one Angelique Kerber registered her eighth win in as many matches in 2018 with a 6-2 6-3 victory over Italian qualifier Camila Giorgi as the German advanced to the Sydney International final on Friday.

Kerber, who began previous year as No 1 before finishing at No.22, continued her 2018 resurgence with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Camila Giorgi, ending the Italian qualifier's run of six wins in the tournament.

Kerber, a former No. 1 and the 2016 Australian Open champion, was 4-0 in winning the Hopman Cup and has added four in a row in Sydney en route to the final. "I'm trying to be aggressive and play like I did the year before last". For me, it was nice to find the rhythm eventually but would definitely like to see it a little bit earlier in matches.

It also marks the ninth-straight singles win of her 2018 reawakening, a display that confirms she means business in next week's Australian Open.

4 players the Cleveland Cavaliers should target
At Thursday morning's shootaround, James discussed the Cavs' seemingly annual regular-season struggles, saying, "This is just us". I don't know where it kind of went wrong or what happened to switch back, but we've got to try to pick it back up and find it".

"It's just the beginning of the year, so it's tough to say".

"Now that I am No.3 ... the first and foremost thing that I am thinking about and feel like I am capable of doing, regardless of whatever anyone else says. I was working hard in the last few weeks", Kerber said. "I'm just motivated to do it".

The other semi-final will be an all-Australian affair between Ashleigh Barty and Daria Gavrilova.

The Queenslander won 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 against a fiery Gavrilova, who struggled to find any consistency with her serve, and who earned a code violation for racquet abuse when frustrations boiled over.

Kohli's subcontinent habit that doesn't work in South Africa
Sharma, who does not only boast of huge experience but also of a good height, can extract more bounce for the same reason. They have stuck to their natural game, punishing bad deliveries and not flirting much with the wide balls outside off.

"For us, it's ideal".

The 42nd-ranked Paire will meet rising young Australian star Alex de Minaur, who downed Spain's Feliciano Lopez in the night match, 6-4, 6-4.

Italian fourth seed Fabio Fognini set up a semi-final against qualifier Daniil Medvedev following a 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (7-4), 6-2 marathon against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino. Giorgi beat defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska 6-1, 6-2.

We don't need to panic about our batting unit: Virat Kohli
I keep saying about KL Rahul because he has scored runs in Australia, he has scored runs in West Indies and Sri Lanka. So you are basically depending on Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli as the two best performers in overseas conditions.
