Apple Crippling Old iPhones: Apology Won't Stop Lawsuits

As Reuters reports, the Apple Store on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich, Switzerland, was evacuated Tuesday morning after an iPhone battery that was being replaced by a store worker suddenly overheated, burning the worker's hand in the process.

Marco Bisa of the Zurich police office said staff "responded well and correctly" by sprinkling quartz sand on the overheating battery to contain the smoke, then opening ventilation systems to release it.

Specialists from the Zurich Forensic Institute are investigating what caused the battery to overheat. All three emergency services attended the store, and six people received medical care at the site, though they were not seriously hurt and nobody required a hospital visit.

Apple's battery woes are continuing.

New SIT to probe 186 anti-Sikh riot cases, Supreme Court
The Supreme Court on Wednesday reopened the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, which was closed earlier by a Special Investigation Team . The apex court perused the report of the supervisory body which was submitted before it in a leather box with number lock system.

This all started in December after users on Reddit complained of slowing iPhones and Primate Labs' John Poole ran benchmark tests on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 over time, across various iOS updates. "Our goal has always been to create products that our customers love, and making iPhones last as long as possible is an important part of that". Many of these are demanding that Apple compensate all iPhone users who have experienced their devices slowing down.
