Hoda Kotb Gets Congratulatory Text from 'Matt Lauer

Today’s Hoda Kotb

Specifically, $18 million dollars less. While the duo is breaking the old-school tradition of having a man and a woman sitting behind the desk, Kotb, who's close friends with Guthrie, has had a positive effect on the ratings since filling in for Matt Lauer after he was sacked in November, following accusations of sexual misconduct.

That being said, yet another insider on the set told us that Hoda is not upset about her significantly lower salary and that she is well aware she can always ask for a raise next time she gets to negotiate her contract. Lauer made $25 million a year hosting the show.

News Chairman Andy Lack made the announcement moments before the morning news show began.

Since Lauer did occupy Today coanchor chair for over two decades, seniority could be a factor here, but it's frankly unacceptable that Kotb's salary comes nowhere within spitting distance of Lauer's exorbitant salary.

Amir Khan's next big fight in ring, not media
It will probably bring the best out of him and we will give something back to the fans for helping us throughout our careers". But Khan admitted his future looked bleak when the £31m fight against Pac Man was called off at the last minute .

Kotb, 53, will replace Matt Lauer, who was sacked on November 28, putting her alongside co-anchor Savannah Guthrie.

According to Page Six, NBC is paying Kotb the meager sum of just $7 million a year - a number, the outlet says, that could be equivalent to what her co-anchor Savannah Guthrie might earn, but far less than Lauer's mammoth paycheck.

Another factor to consider is that NBC is probably a LOT less interested in making big deals with talent after throwing money at Megyn Kelly, only to have the former Fox News anchor disappoint in the ratings department.

"The answer is no - that's not happening", Kotb told People in an interview published Wednesday, speaking about whether or not she'd be making as much as Lauer did.

Still, the politician said he does not believe Sessions will be successful in his bid to crack down on marijuana use. Marijuana advocates are trying to get Rohrabacher-Farr included in the next spending bill passed by Congress.

Kotb said she received a text from Lauer after her promotion. "I misunderstood. Have a great day".

"There's no one I'd rather be sitting next to in 2018 than you", Kotb responded to Guthrie.

An NBC spokesperson said the network doesn't comment on compensation and a spokesperson for CAA, the agency that represents Kotb, said executives there declined to comment.

Kotb joined NBC News in 1998 and has been co-hosting the fourth hour of "Today" with Kathie Lee Gifford since 2008.
