Now her father is fighting to help others

The family of 14-year-old Amy "Dolly" Everett, who had starred in Australian outback hat company Akubra's adverts as a child, has paid tribute to the girl, calling her a "kind, caring and lovely soul".

In a statement given to ABC on January 10, 2018, Tick and Kate Everett together with daughter Meg thanked the Northern Territory community of Katherine for the "overwhelming response we have received since our world came crashing down around us when our handsome Dolly left our family". People are being asked to wear blue, Dolly's favourite colour.

The service will be held on Friday at the Casuarina Street Primary School in Katherine East.

She took her own life last week after being harassed and bullied over the internet, according to her father, Tick Everett.

Mr Everett also condemned those who bulled his daughter, telling them to come to her memorial to "witness the complete devastation you have created".

Akubra Hats also paid tribute to the youngster in an emotional Facebook post - accompanied by a lovely photo of Dolly, taken eight years ago. The company said it was both shocked and distressed to hear of Dolly's passing.

'From pain and loss we must renew our commitment to say no to bullying, ' he said. We need to make sure anyone in crisis knows there is always someone to talk to.
