Marvel Studios Head Wants Black Panther Director to Make a Sequel

The Women of 'Black Panther:' 'They

Marvel Studios' Black Panther has enjoyed a record-breaking first weekend, making more than $360m worldwide and $192m at the U.S. box office: the second biggest opening week haul ever for a superhero movie.

Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

The Chadwick Boseman starrer film set a new record for a February opening, besting "Deadpool", which started with $132.4 million and $152.2 million for the same three- and four-day weekend in 2016.

The Marvel movie blasted off to a lordly $23.2 million overseas after opening in 17 locations, including the United Kingdom, South Korea, and France. That's the fifth biggest opening of all time.

Alderson: 'I Think Tebow Will Play In The Major Leagues'
Tebow's jersey became an immediate top seller for the Mets when he signed a minor league contract with the team in September 2016. Last week, the Mets announced that they'd like him to start the year in Double-A as long as he doesn't totally suck this spring.

If there was any doubts about Marvel and Black Panther, we can safely lay them to rest.

The previous record-holder was "Straight Outta Compton", which collected $214 million worldwide in 2015 over its entire run after adjusting for inflation. That's a global take of $361 million, or £257.6 million.

"Black Panther" is the 18th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film is an "important milestone", according to comScore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian.

A top Trump campaign adviser close to plea deal with Mueller
Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort has drawn a new accusation of bank fraud from U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office, according to court documents made public on Friday.

Marvel knew it had a hit early on and just two and a half weeks into shooting Black Panther, producer Nate Moore was already discussing sequels.

It will probably be a long time before the Black Panther spin-off game does make an appearance as an Avengers game project is now in the works at Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics and Marvel has also stated an interest in getting into VR games, with multiple VR games already in development along the pipeline.

Now it seems like the major Marvel hero might make the jump from the cinema screen to the one in your living room or bedroom.
