No one expected snowboarder to win ski race, not even the victor

No medals so far on Day 8 for Americans

"All I can say is I wish I had as much athleticism as she does to be able to win at two sports in the same Olympics, because I'm only good at one sport, and that's ski racing", said Vonn, the Olympic gold medalist who tied for sixth Saturday. "I feel like in the Olympics a lot of weird things happen". Ester is the first athlete to ever compete in both skiing and snowboarding in the Olympics and truly showcased her skills in one of the biggest upsets in Winter Olympic games history.

Ledecka beat the defending champion Anna Veith (Austria) by just 0.01 seconds.

On Friday night, Vonn said on her Twitter account: "I will give it everything I have with no regrets".

American Lindsey Vonn also struggled this morning, and failed to medal in her first Olympic event in Pyeongchang.

Her name is Ester Ledecka. The third USA skater, Lana Gehring, was fifth in her heat and failed to move on.

Plane emergency landing due to passenger's farts
Before footage of the passengers being evacuated started making rounds the pilot reported "passengers on the rampage". To solve the case, Austrian police came into the plane and took four passengers into custody for creating a ruckus.

"I was probably the only snowboarder on site", Ledecka said. She made her first appearance on the World Cup Alpine skiing circuit in February at Garmisch, and has ranked between No. 38 and No. 43 in the Super-G.

But the International Olympic Committee said they accepted her later explanation that she wanted to keep them on because she wasn't wearing make-up.

She tore up the bottom of the course to clock 1:21.11min. Liechtenstein's Tina Weirather finished third.

And Vonn, one of the most successful skiers of all time, said she plans to avoid speaking out again for the time being after she was subjected to abuse on Twitter for her opinions.

"I was thinking, "OK, they're going to change the time, I'm going to wait for a little bit then they're going to put some more seconds on".

The argument led to Mohammed's friends attacking Vidwath, who had to be rushed to the hospital with serious head injuries. Bengaluru Commissioner of Police will take action as per law and bring the guilty to book", he tweeted .

"I was not as prepared as the other girls that I would be at the [victory] ceremony". "Absolutely not. Nope. I have to win to be invited so - no, actually I think every United States team member is invited".

PEYONGCHANG, South Korea The backlash started minutes after Lindsey Vonn skidded to a stop past the finish line at the Jeongseon Alpine Center on Saturday and mouthed "I tried". In addition, Yarnold is the first Briton to claim two Winter Olympic golds.

Vonn was quick to thank Foudy for her support.

Ledecka skipped Sunday's training for the downhill competition and it remains unclear whether numerous same skiers she shocked in super-G will get their shot at revenge in Wednesday's race.

"I think later on, if I still have a voice, I will express more of my opinion, but now is not the time".
