Tinder's parent company sues Bumble over patents

Tinder's parent company sues Bumble over patents

The lawsuit is the first time Match Group has launched a lawsuit to protect its patents it secured on swiping and double opt-ins for dating matches on Tinder, a company spokesperson told CNN.

Like Tinder, Bumble is a dating app with the unique feature that the woman need to send the first message for a match to exist. As said by one source, Match is still interested in purchasing Bumble, which implies the filed lawsuit may very well be a technique of bargain, although an unfriendly one.

Match also claims that early Bumble executives Chris Gulczynski and Sarah Mick, who both previously worked at Tinder, stole "confidential information related to proposed Tinder features", including the idea for a feature that lets users go back if they accidentally skip someone, according to the suit.

Ronaldo scores four in Madrid's rout of Girona
But it was Ronaldo who put the icing on the cake, netting in second-half stoppage time to cap the scoring. He is already the all-time leader in La Liga hat tricks with 34 - six more than Barcelona's Lionel Messi .

But Match may be trying to push the deal along in an unconventional way: A new patent infringement lawsuit filed late Friday in U.S. District court in Waco, Texas.

"Rather, this case is simply about forcing Bumble to stop competing with Match and Tinder using Match's own inventions, patented designs, trademarks, and trade secrets".

Media reports suggest that this could be Match's way to take over Bumble as it had initially declined the acquisition.

Spanish players angrily confront Romanian referee after Rugby World Cup qualification defeat
Spain coach Santiago Santos was also heavily critical of the referee in his post-match comments. I said to one of the players that Spain didn't lose today, rugby lost".

But Match, Tinder and Bumble have a long and interesting history.

Whether Bumble would be willing to part ways with current owner Badoo in exchange for making a lawsuit go away remains to be seen.

According to some complicated early history, Whitney Wolfe, the founder of Bumble, was also one of the co-founders at Tinder before she filed a lawsuit against Tinder for sexual assault in the year 2014. There's no easy solution, and Bumble may have to compromise on some level (whether independence or cash) to remain a fixture in the dating app scene.

Jeff Flake, R-Arizona, also pushed back against the president. "The power is so unlimited that it's worrisome", Paul said. Marco Rubio said McCabe should have been allowed to retire-he was sacked less than 48 hours before he was due to retire.

In 2017, Match Group had made an offer of $450 million to Bumble.
