Trump asked associates about Mueller interviews

One alleged conversation involved White House counsel Donald F. McGahn II; Trump told an aide that McGahn should deny a January Times article that said Trump had asked McGahn to fire Mueller.

Sources told the NYT that McGahn had to remind Trump that he had asked for the special counsel to be sacked.

Mueller is said to have become aware of Trump's conversations after witnesses and their lawyers informed him of them, reportedly because they found the interactions to be problematic.

Legal experts told The Times the incidents could lead Mueller to focus on possible interference and serve as evidence of obstruction.

Alleged Thief of Frances McDormand's Oscar Pleads Not Guilty
But she agreed that several years of good behavior and the lack of a threat to the community justified Bryant's release. Press room at the 90th Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles, California.

Russian Federation denies the allegations and Trump says there was no collusion between Moscow and his campaign.

The president also spoke to White House Counsel Donald McGahn. But they were sufficiently close to that line, and sufficiently concerning for people who knew of the conversations to share them with Mr. Mueller.

Robert Mueller's team, which is now investigating the alleged Russian interference in the us presidential election and trying to determine if the real estate mogul's campaign colluded with the Kremlin to affect the outcome of the 2016 vote, is apparently well-aware of at least two occasions where the commander-in-chief questioned witnesses who have testified before the special counsel about the probe.

Mueller also has been investigating whether the president has attempted to obstruct the probe, including whether he fired former FBI Director James Comey to undermine it. McGahn has stayed on as White House counsel, one of the few senior administration officials who has been with the President since the campaign. But the investigation has apparently expanded beyond that initial scope.

Oil prices fall as Cohn departure raises trade war fears
At 423.5 million barrels, United States crude oil inventories are in the lower half of the average range for this time of year. OPEC and nonmembers like Russian Federation plan to wind down their agreement to curb production by 1.8 million barrels a day.

A source with knowledge of the investigation said the conversation was limited to questions like "how did it go?" and "were you treated fairly?"

Meanwhile, Mariotti wrote on Wednesday, Trump's question to Priebus about whether investigators had been "nice" to him "could suggest that he's concerned about being interviewed in the investigation".

Trump's lawyers have worked overtime in recent months to sidestep a face-to-face interview between the president, who has been known to exaggerate the truth and make misleading statements in the past, and the special counsel.

Experts threw cold water on both arguments, calling them "weak" and "dubious", and added that they were unlikely to succeed.
