8.28 million videos removed by YouTube in final quarter of 2017

YouTube shares first quarterly report on video takedowns, new Reporting dashboard

The video site also details that leveraging ML requires more people to review content, with YouTube having staffed full-time specialists with expertise in violent extremism, counterterrorism, and human rights, as well as expanded regional expert teams.

Responding to the repeated criticism, YouTube has removed 8.3 million videos overall in the last three months of 2017, according to its first quarterly report.

Walmart close to clinching $12-bn deal for Flipkart
At stake is a growing online sales market as more of India's 1.4 billion population comes online for the first time. But Flipkart's primary rival is Amazon India itself, and it's hard to imagine Amazon buying stake in Flipkart.

What's really intriguing about the report though is the fact that it clearly states that YouTube makes use of machine learning to flag and remove videos.

YouTube said, "Our investment in machine learning to help speed up removals is paying off across high-risk, low-volume areas - like violent extremism - and in high-volume areas, like spam". Of 8 million videos in a three month period bringing last October, 6.7 million were first flagged for review by machines.

Flight records dispute Trump's claim he didn't stay in Russian Federation
In 2013, he cemented an alliance with father and singer son Aras and Emin Agalarov, who hosted the pageant in Moscow. On Sunday evening, Trump tweeted that he'd "just got back from Russian Federation ".

In Reporting History dashboard, users can check the status of flagged videos as announced by YouTube. Perhaps unsurprisingly, sexually explicit videos accounted for the most user-generated complaints in Q4 2017 at nine million flags.

Additionally, the video sharing platform revealed the top 10 countries from which it receives the most human flagged video reports. It takes thousands of trusted flaggers and users to assist with the platform's moderation, and with over 400 hours of video being uploaded every minute, enforcing strict guidelines is definitely an uphill task for YouTube's staff and AI systems.

Alicia Vitarelli along with American Idol expert and Season 1 runner-up, Justin Guarini, discuss this week's best performances. Ada has yet to respond to Ru's tweet , but previously told TMZ that it would be awesome if she got a shoutout from RuPaul .

Last year, YouTube said it wanted to increase the number of people "working to address violative content" to 10,000 across Google by the end of 2018. "We introduced machine learning flagging in June 2017", it noted. YouTube says that in response to criticism that it has been slow to remove videos that violate its guidelines, it is making great progress; previous year only 8% of videos flagged and removed for containing violent extremism were removed with less than 10 views.
