America has 3 goals in Syria: US' Haley

Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the United Nations, said Sunday that the United States will place more sanctions on Russian Federation this week related to its support for Syria's chemical weapons program.

The alleged attack, which Damascus and its Russian ally have denied ever happened, prompted an unprecedented wave of missile strikes by the United States, France and Britain yesterday.

Volatility on the Russian market has soared since Washington imposed fresh sanctions against Moscow on April 6, targeting major Russian companies and some of the country's most prominent businessmen.

Besides he shared that they have evidence against the United Kingdom for staging the chemical attack. On Monday he said he would decide within 48 hours on a forceful answer to the attack in Syria, later telling reporters: "When, I will not say, because I don't like talking about timing".

"We're not going to leave until we know we've accomplished those things", she said.

Syria forces enter Douma, last holdout in rebel bastion - state media
The government's capture of Douma, the last town held by the rebels in eastern Ghouta , marks a major victory for Assad. Separately, Syrian state television has reported a missile attack near Homs targeting Shayrat airbase.

"From the point of view of the president, this was aggression and we share this position", Russian lawmaker Sergei Zheleznyak said after his meeting with Assad, according to Russia's TASS news agency. But the rollout of new sanctions is usually closely guarded, in part to prevent people subjected to sanctions from quickly moving their money around. There was no immediate comment from the Treasury Department.

Russia's U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said the meeting confirmed that the US and its allies "continue to put global politics and diplomacy in the realm of myth-making - myths invented in London, Paris and Washington".

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council called by Russia Friday that "there is no military solution to the conflict".

She hit back on critics who argue the United States didn't go far enough because it had other interests in the war-torn nation. The US is committed to stopping the use of chemical weapons, defeating Islamic State and ensuring Iran doesn't seize influence in the region, Haley said. "And should he use it again, the president has made it very clear that the United States is locked and loaded and ready to go".

Huge blasts were reported around Damascus early today, moments after the US, France, and Britain announced they were striking Syria's chemical weapons capabilities.

Syria: missiles fired at air base near Homs
Israeli interventions: Tel Aviv has carried out multiple airstrikes on Syrian government targets during the conflict. Overall, the United Nations estimates that 13 million Syrians including six million children need humanitarian aid.

The US-led military actions have been welcomed by its allies, including Israel and Germany.

Russian Federation and its ally Syria called the attack fabricated and said no evidence of chemical weapons use exists in Douma.

Russia's demand for condemnation and an immediate halt to "aggression" and "any further use of force" by the three Western allies got support from only two other countries on the 15-member Security Council - China and Bolivia. The Kremlin readout said that Putin warned against rushing to blame the Syrian government before conducting a "thorough and objective probe".

During the day, as many as 133 Syrians, including 66 children, received medical assistance from Russian military doctors.

As fears of a Russia confrontation with Western powers mount, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his "deep concerns" over the situation in Syria in a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Hezbollah has hundreds of fighters backing Assad's forces. The war and politics of Syria are broadly going its way. The U.S. says it suspects that sarin gas also was used.

Carroll's late strike leaves Potters in peril
He added: "I must have walked under a ladder or broken a mirror somewhere because I have not had any luck whatsoever". The hosts are seven points clear of the relegation zone, with Stoke five points adrift of safety with four games left.
