Dez Bryant: 'Everything is still up in the air'

Cowboys schedule 2018 Playoff team-laden slate harder than it looks for Dallas

The belief all along was that the Cowboys' decision to release Bryant would be about money, but Bryant said the team never asked him to take a pay cut. Bryant, who had been with the Cowboys since they drafted him in the first round of the 2010 draft, has been to three Pro Bowls, and he's one of the most well-known names in the National Football League wide receiver ranks. However, Bryant's production has dipped sharply in recent seasons-he hasn't topped 900 receiving yards in three years, and he's combined for just 17 TD grabs in that span. The Dallas Cowboys released him Friday after eight seasons with the team, and he indicated he'd prefer to join a team in the NFC East. But he may have found a suitor in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens were immediately mentioned, and Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun has reported they are indeed interested in the mercurial wide receiver. The Ravens already have signed receivers Michael Crabtree and John Brown this offseason but they might not be finished adding to quarterback Joe Flacco's arsenal of wideouts.

It is 'Back-to-School' for Most Oklahoma Kids
This is the first day back to school for many Oklahoma students following the two-week walkout by Oklahoma teachers. One school will be open for day care for fees of $30 per child, the district said.

The Ravens were interested in drafting Bryant out of Oklahoma State in 2010, but he was taken with the 24th pick by the Cowboys ahead of Baltimore at No. 25. His departure saves them $8 million in salary cap space. Derrick Mason had a nice second act from 2007-2009, his age 33, 34 and 35 seasons, averaging 85 catches per season with over 1,000 yards in all three campaigns. Though he's no longer the same player, he still seems to have plenty left in the tank.
