Jim Comey trying to sell books, not save America: Kellyanne Conway

Good Morning America

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Monday that President Trump is perplexed that fired Federal Bureau of Investigation director James B. Comey is receiving so much attention for what she characterized as a "revisionist" version of his limited interactions with her boss.

In case you didn't catch the segment, Comey called Trump "morally unfit to be president", and basically called him a pathological liar.

Conway appeared to reverse her statement later Monday morning during an interview with CNN.

Supermarket giant Woolworths has suffered an IT outage this afternoon which affected registers at its stores nationwide. A technical issue has forced Woolworths shops across Australia to close.

Conway attempted to walk back her remarks on Comey via a Monday morning tweet, after her interview.

In the interview that aired Sunday, Comey said that he would not favor impeaching Trump to remove him from office, because that "would let the American people off the hook and have something happen indirectly that I believe they're duty-bound to do directly" - meaning through elections. "It was sarcastic", she reportedly said.

She also tweeted her defense. "I don't think so", she wrote.

It is 'Back-to-School' for Most Oklahoma Kids
This is the first day back to school for many Oklahoma students following the two-week walkout by Oklahoma teachers. One school will be open for day care for fees of $30 per child, the district said.

Trump and the White House later reversed their position on Comey's handling of the Clinton investigation, saying it was actually the reason the president unexpectedly fired him.

Huh. So it seems Conway is criticizing Comey for swinging the election for Trump, something that Conway and Trump benefitted from, I guess?

Remember, too, that when Trump first fired Comey in 2017, one of the White House's initial defenses of the firing was because of how Comey mishandled the Clinton investigation, though Trump himself would later admit the Russian Federation investigation played a role.

In TV interview, Comey says Trump is 'morally unfit' to be president
On Sunday, Trump similarly suggested Comey's handling of the Clinton case seemed to be based on the assumption she would win. Comey provided the assessment in an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos that aired Sunday night.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions, then a top Trump campaign surrogate, also praised Comey's move, telling Fox News in late October and early November 2016 that Comey "had an absolute duty" to "come forward with the new information" and "did the right thing". Comey had only ever testified that no one in the Department of Justice had made such a request, Stephanopoulos said, but he has always maintained his claims about Trump.
