Manchester City Sergio Aguero out of Spurs trip

Josep Guardiola Manager of Manchester City gives his team instructions during the UEFA Champions League Quarter Final Second Leg match between Manchester City and Liverpool at Etihad

But City have injury problems, not least with leading scorer Aguero out, according to Guardiola.

The Argentinean global then made another appearance from the bench during City's Champions League defeat to Liverpool in midweek, despite being unable to train following the United game.

Argentina global Aguero came off the bench as City attempted to salvage their Champions League tie with Liverpool on Tuesday. Gabriel Jesus is expected to start up front in place of Aguero, while Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling should feature on the wings.

But it appears the Argentinian's recovery may have been hindered by a controversial challenge from United's Ashley Young in the latter stages of the derby. We lost but it's part of the game.

The Argentine was on target in City's last win away to Spurs at White Hart Lane in May 2015, but since then City have lost their last two visits away to Spurs, conceding six goals. He played the last 20 minutes (against Liverpool) and after the game he said "I can not run, I have a lot of pain".

"I don't know if he will be ready for Swansea".

"So hopefully he'll be ready for the last games if we need him and for his World Cup". After losing to United, how we played against Liverpool was top.

Aguero suffered a knee problem that kept him out for a month before he managed two second-half substitute appearances in City's last two defeats - to Manchester United and Liverpool in the Champions League.

For a team that has come close to footballing perfection at times this season, the past 10 days couldn't have gone any worse for Manchester City.

Guardiola said: "They are human beings and they are disappointed because they gave it everything but we have to stand up".

"We are 13 points ahead plus goal difference and we deserve to be there".

'Now we have six games to play - 18 points to play for and we need five. "When you lose 5-1 you can not say anything else".

"We have to try to be who we were during the season", Pep stated when asked about his side's response to recent results. That's why we are there.
