Released Eagles CB Daryl Worley faces six charges

Eagles release defensive back Daryl Worley after he was found passed out inside vehicle blocking highway

National Football League cornerback Daryl Worley is out of a job before he ever got a chance to suit up for the Super Bowl champs.

Worley was charged with driving under the influence, firearms not to be carried without a license, carrying firearms in public, possession of an instrument of crime, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct/engaging in fighting following Sunday's arrest.

It didn't take long for the Philadelphia Eagles to part ways with newly acquired cornerback Daryl Worley after he was arrested Sunday morning.

A Philadelphia native, Worley was traded back to his hometown Eagles for veteran wide receiver Torrey Smith, and he was expected to compete for a starting cornerback position. He allegedly became combative with officers, at which point they used a stun gun on him.

Sources say that Worley was reportedly found passed out in a vehicle and 911 was called. A gun was allegedly found in Worley's auto. He was the Panthers' third-round draft pick in 2016 and started 25 games over two seasons. He avoided a six-month jail sentence, instead serving community service.

The Eagles officially announced his release hours after the news of his arrest were reported by NFL Network. Worley claimed that he was defending his girlfriend.
