Teenager unearths treasures linked to Harald Bluetooth

Scientists have discovered the treasure of a 10th century Danish King thanks to the help of a 13-year-old boy

The coins were minted between 910 and 987 and date back to the reign of King Harald Bluetooth.

A 13-year-old boy and an amateur archaeologist have unearthed a "significant" treasure trove in Germany which may have belonged to the legendary Danish king Harald Bluetooth who brought Christianity to Denmark.

The pair, who belong to a group of enthusiasts looking after historical sites in northern Germany, thought they had dug up a chunk of aluminium. They are associated with the era of the Danish king Harald Gormsen, reports The Associated Press.

The archaeologists excavated numerous necklaces, bracelets, rings, coins and a hammer on the island of Rügen near the village of Schaprode.

Schön's find was not entirely down to luck, perhaps, as in the 1870s, pieces of gold jewelry believed to be linked to Bluetooth were found on the island of Hiddensee, which is next to Rügen.

The entire treasure was uncovered by experts last weekend, the Mecklenburg-West Pomerania state archaeology office said.

As per Some statement released from the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Business Office for Tradition and Historic Preservation, the teenaged boy and a volunteer preservationist found the Very First silver item in the municipality of both Schaprode at January.

The coins found allowed the archaeologists to date the find to the time Bluetooth would have been in the area.

Wenger calls for VAR in Premier League after Arsenal beaten at Newcastle
For years the Gunners appeared content with treading water by settling for a top-four finish each season, but this term they could sink to new depths.

An excavation of an area covering 400 square metres determined that the treasure was probably buried in the late 980s, the period of Harald Gormsson, one of the last Viking kings. "We have here the rare case of a discovery that appears to corroborate historical sources", archaeologist Detlef Jantzen told the Guardian.

His nickname - from one dead tooth that looked bluish - is now best known for the wireless Bluetooth technology invented by Swedish telecom company Ericsson.

Bluetooth technology was named after him, for his purported networking and communication skills.

The logo is made up of the two ancient runes spelling out his initials HB.
