The IG report on McCabe

Then-acting FBI Director Andrew Mc Cabe on Capitol Hill

The US Justice Department has delivered a scathing report to Congress accusing fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe of repeatedly misleading investigators. McCabe was totally controlled by Comey - McCabe is Comey!

"DOJ just issued the McCabe report - which is a total disaster", the president tweeted Friday afternoon. His lawyer, Michael Bromwich, says the inspector general unfairly tried to conclude its work before McCabe could retire with a full pension.

The report also reveals starkly contradictory accounts from Mr McCabe and Mr Comey about how the conversations with the reporter had come to take place.

The report claims that even if McCabe had been forthright about his actions, his disclosure still would have violated the FBI's media policy.

Three keys for Penguins vs. Flyers in Game 2
Future Vezina Trophy victor Pekka Rinne was elite this season, their defence was once again top in the league thanks to P.K. Those numbers aren't bad, but the task at hand is to win four games against the Predators without Semyon Varlamov in goal.

Mr McCabe, who argued he was being targeted because of his involvement in the inquiry into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election, released a statement on Friday saying he was authorised to share information and did not intentionally mislead anyone. Comey, who was sacked by Trump in May, called the president "unethical, and untethered to the truth", according to excerpts from the book.

The statement was in response to a Trump tweet that said McCabe "LIED!"

McCabe also wrote a dramatic op-ed for The Washington Post in which he again denied that he lied or misled investigators, and talked about the humiliation he had undergone over the probe and way he was sacked.

The newspaper article delved into a dispute between F.B.I. and Justice Department officials over how to proceed in an investigation into the financial dealings of the Clinton family's foundation.

Police arrest man wanted for assaulting 11-month-old baby
Police say an unidentified man who threw a rock at someone's vehicle late Wednesday night and punched a woman remains at large. Fletcher, 24, both transients, were seen on surveillance video recovered from the Rocket Market.

Donald Trump and the White House are trying to use the McCabe report to damage James Comey and paint the two as "peas in a pod", in the words of press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Before firing McCabe, Trump had zeroed in on contributions a political group aligned with then-Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) made to McCabe's wife's unsuccessful campaign for state senator in 2015. "The Inspector General found not only did McCabe divulge sensitive information, he did it without the permission, authority, or knowledge of his supervisor".

The inspector general also concluded that McCabe initially had been untruthful about authorizing the Federal Bureau of Investigation officials to engage the reporter.

McCabe, who is close to Comey, could be an important witness for Mueller, who is investigating Trump for possible obstruction of justice, including his motivation for firing Comey in May 2017.
