Tribeca Film Festival will be 'yelling' about women's voices

While their efforts weren't successful, that hasn't stopped celebrities from speaking out, including veteran actor Robert De Niro who has been more than clear in regards to his opposition to Trump.

The 17th edition of the Tribeca Film Festival kicked off with a tribute to 1970s NY with "Love, Gilda", a documentary about the trailblazing "Saturday Night Live" star Gilda Radner. He has, for example, previously said he'd like to punch Trump in the face.

"Your job is hard enough without being attacked by our lowlife-in-chief", he continued.

Several of the movies that will be featured at this year's festival have a political theme. Of the festival's 99 features, 46 per cent are directed by women, the most in Tribeca's history.
