U.S. says Russian Federation 'may have tampered' with attack site in Syria

In a bid to get back at the West for launching a military strike on its close ally Syria, over an alleged chemical weapons attack on Douma - Russia is now said to be responding with cyber attacks in Syria's defense.

Administration officials said Monday it was unlikely Trump would approve any additional sanctions without another triggering event by Russian Federation, describing the strategy as being in a holding pattern.

President Donald Trump on Monday put the brakes on a preliminary plan to impose additional economic sanctions on Russian Federation, walking back a Sunday announcement by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley that the Kremlin had swiftly denounced as "international economic raiding".

If the U.S. sanctions are enacted, they will be the second such batch in just over a year against Syria's weapons of mass destruction program.

A joint United Nations-OPCW mission concluded that troops under President Bashar al-Assad had used chemical weapons several times in recent years, including a sarin attack a year ago in the town of Khan Sheikhoun that killed almost 100 people.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergei Ryabkov has said that Moscow will not delay its response to new USA sanctions, according to Russian state news agency RIA.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Moscow would not delay its response to new United States sanctions.

Syrian government forces are being suspected for using chemical weapons on the Douma area on April 7 - an allegation that Syria's Assad denies.

U.S. Ambassador Kenneth Ward levied the accusation against Russian Federation during a closed-door meeting at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

The U.S. actions led to deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Syria, he noted. "What did take place was the staged thing".

Six times: "That's how many times Russian Federation vetoed Security Council resolutions to address chemical weapons in Syria", she told the Security Council.

"We convinced him to limit the strikes to chemical weapons when at the same time there was a burst of tweets that did not escape you", Macron said.

Turkey distances itself from Iran, Russia and USA on Syria
The indictment says the charges are based on evidence obtained from Brunson's phone, as well as information from witnesses. North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis and Sam Brownback, U.S. ambassador-at-large for religious freedoms, observed the trial.

A team from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is in Syria to investigate the Douma incident and was expected to visit the town. "In the US administration there are specific people who it is possible to talk with".

"Chemical weapons were used on Syrian men, women, and children in #Douma".

Russian Federation asked the Security Council to condemn the "aggression" against Syria from military strikes conducted by the United States, Britain and France, also permanent members of the Security Council.

Mr Lavrov said that the "deconfliction channel" to prevent a clash between U.S. and Russian forces had done its job and a confrontation had not been close.

The country's foreign minister, Linas Linkevičius, said, "Only decisive action will make it possible to adjust the regime's policy and send a very clear message to those countries supporting Assad, Russia and Iran".

She added that Russian Federation is feeling the effects of United States actions including "the sanctions that are continuing to happen, which you'll see again on Monday".
