United States envoy to United Nations says Syria used chemical weapons 50 times

Haley No rush into US decision on Syria

In the end, while Haley said the USA has not decided on a course of action in response to the use of chemical weapons, she let Moscow know that no one's buying the bill of goods they're selling.

"But should the United States and our allies decide to act in Syria, it will be in defense of a principle on which we all agree", she went on to say.

On Friday, Haley slammed Russian Federation for vetoing United Nations condemnation of Assad's use of chemical weapons, protecting his regime and failing to guarantee the removal of chemical weapons from Syria.

"So, in theory, all of us agree on the core principle at stake today: no country can be allowed to use chemical weapons with impunity", Haley said.

The United States is consulting with Britain and France about a joint military response to the attack in Douma that medics and rescuers said left at least 40 people dead on Saturday. The Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations Francois Delattre said that the Assad regime is using chemical weapons to attack its opponents in a pre-determined way.

Haley derided Russia's claim the attack on the rebel-held suburb of Douma last week was staged, saying three separate analyses have concluded the chemical attack occurred.

"You don't rush decisions like this", Haley told reporters, adding that if there is haste "you make a mistake".

Haley, who was called on to present her statement following Nebenzia, responded by calling Russian support for Assad and its failure to keep a promise to rid Syria of chemical weapons "one of the most blatant and grotesque violations of global law in the world today".

Guterres added that the situation in Syria is now the "most serious threat to worldwide peace and security".

According to Haley, President Trump has not yet decided whether to respond to the recent attacks in Syria militarily.

U.S. says has proof Syria carried out chemical weapons attack
Mr Trump wrote on Twitter , raising the prospect that an attack might not be as imminent as he seemed to suggest the day before. Russian Federation has described the reports of a chemical attack as a "provocation" created to justify Western intervention.

Russia's failure to police its client, Syrian President Bahsar al-Assad, led directly to a suspected poison gas attack on civilians over the weekend, top US envoy to the U.N. Haley said.

"We have weighty justification to believe ... that what took place was a provocation of certain countries intelligence services", Nebenzia said.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said there is no military solution to the conflict.

"Russia can complain all at wants about 'fake news, '" Haley said, "but no one is buying its lies and cover-ups". Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday warned his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron during a telephone call against any "dangerous actions" in Syria, the Kremlin said.

Ever since the recent chemical attack in Douma, the Russian government has written off the incident as a fabrication, all while warning the global community not to take countermeasures against the Assad regime.
