Bali, Jakarta on highest alert after Surabaya bomb attacks

A Surabaya police office is the latest target in a series of bombings in Surabaya and neighbouring Sidoarjo

Six civilians and four police officers were injured, the authorities say.

Use of children: The latest attack comprised similar characteristics to Sunday's church attacks, in that each were carried out by a single family, and in both bombings, young children made up part of the suicide squad. This bombing comes just a day after a deadly wave of attacks on churches in the city which was staged by another family.

The spate of bombings has rocked Indonesia, with the Islamic State group claiming the church attacks and raising fears about its influence in Southeast Asia as its dreams of a Middle Eastern caliphate fade.

Moyes said: "Everybody always thinks the grass is greener and there's something better out there. We will wait and see when we meet up this week'.

The Egyptian foreign ministry also demanded more global efforts to stand against the phenomenon of terrorism that targets security and stability all over the world.

President Joko Widodo has described the attacks as "cowardly, undignified and inhumane" and said he will push through a long-awaited anti-terrorism bill if parliament does not pass it.

National police chief Tito Karnavian said the girl, who was with two of the attackers on a motorcycle, survived being thrown by the blast at Surabaya's police headquarters.

A family of five carried out a motorcycle bombing at the police headquarters in the Indonesian city of Surabaya on Monday, authorities said.

After some major successes tackling Islamist militancy since 2001, there has been resurgence in recent years, including in January 2016 when four suicide bombers and gunmen attacked a shopping area in the capital, Jakarta.

The flurry of bombings raised concerns that previously beaten-down militant networks in the world's most populous Muslim-majority nation have been reinvigorated by the return of some of the estimated 1,100 Indonesians who went to fight with the Islamic State group in Syria. The mother and her 17-year-old daughter died in an attack in the Surabaya suburb of Sidoarjo shortly after the father detonated an explosive prematurely. All six members of the family were killed. "We believe she was thrown three metres (10 ft) or so up into the air by the impact of the explosion and then fell to the ground", Mangera said, adding she has been rushed to hospital.

So I'm willing to go back on all those things I said - and a lot of them I said just of stubbornness. "I love her. However I've checked out myself day-after-day and I've tried to guage myself and the lady that I really like".

Karnavian said the father drove a bomb-laden auto into the city's Pentecostal church.
