Canada row escalates, Europeans criticise Donald Trump's G7 move

French President Emmanuel Macron addresses a press conference at the conclusion of the G7 Summit

The United States and Canada have swung sharply towards a diplomatic and trade crisis as top White House advisers lashed out at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a day after US President Donald Trump called him "very dishonest and weak".

"He did a great disservice to the whole (G-7)", White House Economic Advisor Larry Kudlow told CNN.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has closed the G7 summit by stating he "won't be pushed around" by Donald Trump on trade.

Trudeau didn't respond to questions about Mr. Trump when the prime minister arrived at a Quebec City hotel Sunday for meetings with other world leaders, though Freeland later told reporters that "we don't think that's a useful or productive way to do business".

Kudlow doubled down on blaming Trudeau in an appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation" later Sunday morning when he said the prime minister "picked a fight" and left Trump no choice but to pull out of the group's communique.

Trump criticizes Justin Trudeau, says US won’t endorse G7 statement
G7 includes the seven leading industrialized countries of Britain, the United States, France , Germany, Italy, Japan and Canada. In response to US duties, Canada has already issued its own tariff threats, which Trudeau said would go into effect on July 1.

Trudeau finished with a warning to Trump, saying "Canadians are polite, we're reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around". "But they're the sentiment that was on Air Force One after that- Look, Chris, this is just wrong what Trudeau is doing".

German Chancellor Angela Merkel says she finds President Donald Trump's tweet disavowing a common statement after the Group of Seven summit in Canada "sobering" and "a little depressing".

Trump said in another tweet that Trudeau was "meek and mild" during their private meeting, only to hold a news conference calling the USA tariffs "insulting".

While at the Summit in Quebec, Canada, Trump blasted the foreign leaders who were there with him as they jointly were supposed to come up with new solutions and possibilities for trade.

"[Trudeau] really kind of stabbed us in the back", Kudlow said.

Pep Guardiola has finally responded to Yaya Toure's claims that he's racist
Toure made his final appearance for City in a 3-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in May. "We won one Premier League [title]". Guardiola has since come out to hit back at Toure's claims.

After Trump's angry tweets, Trudeau's office issued a brief response: "We are focused on everything we accomplished here at the G7 summit". President Trump is sitting alone on one side of a table.

The Trump administration confirmed on May 31 it would apply additional tariffs on steel and aluminium imports from Canada, Mexico and European Union countries, ending a two-month exemption period.

In a mocking tone, Kudlow rattled off the reasons Trudeau offered for his barbed critique of Trump's policies. He did him a favor and he was even willing to sign that socialist communique.

"I congratulate leaders of other countries for so crazily being able to make these trade deals so good for their countries", Trump said, while insisting that his relationships with Europe and Canada were "outstanding". From there I go to Singapore and talks with North Korea on Denuclearization.

Tapper picked up on the implication and said this was about North Korea.
