Catherine Whitaker speaks about how Thiem can beat Nadal

Eurosport experts on Nadal v Thiem Who's going to win

Rafael Nadal claimed an 11th French Open title on Sunday with a 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 demolition of Dominic Thiem despite a worrying injury scare in the closing stages of the final. Nadal nets it, Thiem takes the point 30-all now.

At 2-1 in the fourth set, Nadal stopped serving during a game because he couldn't straighten his left middle finger. He removed the tape from his left wrist and seemed to take a tablet.

Nadal said afterwards that he feared the worst when the cramp struck: 'There was a tough moment in the third set, I was very very scared but that's sport.

Still, Nadal was able to complete the job on court Philippe-Chatrier. He is, however, the second player overall to win a major 11 times after Australia's Margaret Court, who won four of her 11 Australian Open titles after the start of the Open Era in 1968.

Nadal is so dominant and so impervious on clay, in general, and at this tournament, especially, it made sense for Thiem to go for broke as much as possible, accepting that there would be risks along with the rewards. Only two players have ever come from two sets down to beat the Spaniard, and neither of those occasions was on his favourite surface.

Stormy Daniels sues former lawyer for colluding with Trump attorney
Trump knew and about the honesty of my client were absolute lies", said Michael Avenatti , Clifford's embattled attorney. The first lady has not publicly commented about any of the sexual misconduct allegations against her husband.

"I am sure you will win here in the next couple of years", Nadal told Thiem afterward.

It was hard not to feel sympathy for Thiem, playing in his first grand slam final against a man who simply does not lose this particular battle.

Why? Nadal was 95-0 when capturing the opener on clay in the best of five format.

Nadal won the first two sets.

Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters and James Bond actress Lea Seydoux have unveiled the Musketeers Cup that will be won by either Rafael Nadal or Dominic Thiem in the French Open final.

Putnam: No mores lapse in background checks
An inspector general's report sent to Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam in 2017 highlighted the problem. The Division of Licensing is housed under the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service.

He still occasionally inconvenienced the reigning champion, not least when a deft drop shot brought up a point to break back at 2-4.

His lead was reminiscent of their semifinal at the French Open previous year, when Nadal also held the early advantage.

Once again Thiem looked in despair at his support box as he was broken in the third game.

The No. 7-seeded Thiem, a 24-year-old from Austria, is appearing in his first Grand Slam final.

Nadal then served out that game.
