Donald Trump Reveals Larry Kudlow Suffered a Heart Attack

Trump Larry Kudlow suffered heart attack

Kudlow joined Trump's administration as the president's top economic adviser in March, replacing Gary Cohn.

Top White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow suffered a heart attack on Monday (Tuesday NZT) and is at a Maryland hospital, US President Donald Trump said.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the 70-year-old Kudlow was "doing well".

The biggest plant in the company, it now employs 9,000 people. It also blamed uncertainty over Brexit and vehicle taxation.

Kudlow, a Fairfield County homeowner who serves as Trump's chief economic adviser, blasted Trudeau after the prime minister clashed with Trump during the G-7 summit in Canada.

But since joining the Trump administration, he has faithfully executed his boss's agenda - arguing for instance that the European Union must make "concessions" if it wishes to be exempt from tariffs, and signaling the USA is prepared to walk away from two-decade-old North American Free Trade Agreement.

Costa reports that Kudlow is "up and talking" and had spoken on the phone with his friend, the economist Art Laffer. The associates spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of Kudlow's health status. According to CNN, President Donald Trump took to Twitter just 25 minutes before he was set to meet with Kim Jong Un for the first time.

With Trump's tax cuts already being implemented, Kudlow has been advising a president who pushed to tax foreign imports - a policy Kudlow personally opposes.

Before Trump hired him, Kudlow was a commentator and host on CNBC. The month he was tapped for the White House job, he co-authored an article that argued such tariffs were akin to sanctions on the United States itself. He left that position in the early 1990s to treat an addiction to alcohol and drugs.
