Rebel Wilson's Australian-record defamation payout slashed

The night before the decision Wilson took to Twitter to reveal she wasn't bothered by the appeal

In the hours before the appeal, Wilson pointed out that Thursday's case was contending the amount of money she was to be paid, not the result of the case.

In court past year, she successfully argued that eight articles published by Bauer magazines in 2015 had portrayed her as a serial liar, and that this resulted in her being sacked from two feature films.

Rebel Wilson's defamation payout from German-based publisher Bauer Media has been drastically reduced from $4.5 million to $600,000.

'What happens tomorrow is to do with the losers @bauermedia quibbling about how much they now have to pay me.

"I'm away on location in Europe filming right now", she tweeted on Wednesday night.

The two states also experienced the second and third biggest increases, more than 48 percent, in the period studied by the CDC. Moreover, 54 percent of people who died by suicide did not have a known mental health condition, according to the report.

Rebel, 38, had claimed the substantial sum in damages as she said the articles had cost her earnings in movie roles she allegedly lost, and for the damage to her reputation.

Bauer did not, however, appeal the verdict that the articles were defamatory, but argued the Australian-record damages awarded in September were excessive.

It was previously Australia's largest ever defamation payout.

Bauer announced their plan to appeal back in October, saying in a statement that the "quantum of damages..." "The legal process has [now] run its course".

It also cut the Aus$650,000 compensation figure for non-economic loss to Aus$600,000.

In other post, she wrote: 'The Court of Appeal in Australia will be handing down their decision in the morning re my defamation case against As I've said before, I have already WON the case and this is UNCHALLENGED!'

However the Court of Appeal found "there was no basis in the evidence for making any award of damages for economic loss".

After winning the record payout, she said: "I had to stand up to a bully, a huge media organisation, Bauer Media Group, who maliciously took me down in 2015 with a series of grubby and completely false articles".
