Republicans are taking one more shot at immigration reform

President Donald Trump's supporters see themselves as victims of a manipulative media reporting on child detention camps for young migrants taken from their parents at the border.

Since children can not be sent to the facilities where their parents are held, they are separated from them. (Data shows the opposite has occurred). Every Senate Democrat has now become a co-sponsor of the legislation which would prohibit children from being separated from their parents within 100 miles of the USA border except for instances of abuse, neglect or other specific circumstances. The separation of children from their parents is directly attributable to a change in enforcement policy repeatedly announced by Sessions in April and May 2018, under which adults (with or without children) are criminally prosecuted for attempting to enter the United States.

Republican Mr Trump yesterday blamed Democrats for the crisis, tweeting: "They don't care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how bad they may be, to pour into and infest our country, like MS-13 [a 1980s worldwide criminal gang originating in Los Angeles]". "Wait until the ads start running showing that Republican congressman X supported the tearing of families apart and that's when we'll find out just how strong Republican resolve is on this issue". Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, who sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions urging him to suspend the policy immediately to give Congress time to address the issue. While perusing my Facebook page last night, I came across a post from a close relative that blatantly said that a law enacted during the Bill Clinton administration is behind the separation of children from their parents today.

Since the Trump administration's zero-tolerance policy was debuted over a month ago, the number of people in detention centers has risen and backlogs have built up in courts. But no law mandates that parents must be separated from their children at the border. The resolution has about 150 cosponsors, all of whom are Democrats.

Governors across the United States are now queuing up to say that they will not support the separations, with New York, Colorado and MA saying they will not provide troops to help secure the border - and Maryland recalling its soldiers. It's not clear yet how the fight over the family separation policy will end differently. "Get it done, always keeping in mind that we must have strong border security".

OPPO has mentioned that lower voltage not only offers lower temperature but it is also safe to use your phone while charging. It is powered by a 3730mAh battery featuring VOOC flash charge technology which can charge the battery fully in 35 minutes.

Well, the change is, is because we're actually enforcing the law. Lamb has not cosponsored H.R. 927.

USA public opinion appears divided along partisan lines on the family separations, with two thirds of all voters opposed, but 55% of Republicans supporting the policy, according to a Quinnipiac University National Poll. His office didn't respond to request for comment on this story.

President Trump visited Capitol Hill on Tuesday to meet with anxious Republicans who hoped he'd help them put out the firestorm he started with his decision to separate parents and children.

Republican candidates in suburban districts near Denver, Houston, Miami, Philadelphia, and in southern California also came out against the policy, leaving a handful in battleground races who had not done so.

The senator, a vocal critic of the administration's immigration policy, added that "it would take Donald Trump basically the same amount of effort to end the heinous family separation policy as it did to pardon Joe Arpaio".

"Democrats are the problem", Trump tweeted Tuesday morning.

In an open letter, 74 former US lawyers - prosecutors appointed by both Republican and Democratic presidents - argue the policy has led to the "unnecessary trauma and suffering of innocent children" and is a waste of resources.

Democrats, religious leaders, charities and celebrities have condemned the action, and on Tuesday, Republicans echoed their calls to keep the families together. Any two Illinois Republican lawmakers have made the difference by signing the petition to allow a roll call.

Representative Kristi Noem said Mr Trump told politicians he "would continue to support the legislation, and that people shouldn't be anxious that he would change his mind".
