Several dead in vehicle crash near Texas border

Five undocumented immigrants in a speeding sport utility vehicle were killed Sunday when it crashed while being chased by border patrol agents and a sheriff's deputy in a Texas town about 50 miles from the border with Mexico, officials said.

"The vehicle ran off the road and caught gravel and then tried to recorrect and then caused the vehicle to turn over several times", he said.

"Border patrol was pursuing a vehicle, a Chevrolet Suburban, and one of my deputies assisted and took over the pursuit just west of Big Wells", Boyd said. Six patients were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in San Antonio, Lt. Edwin Roberts said.

German MP predicts Merkel could be ousted end of next week
Seehofer plans to hold a press conference in Munich on Monday following a meeting of CSU leaders on migration, Reuters reported . But doing so would bring down her government and her own political career would nearly certainly be over.

In a later interview, Boyd said the auto reached 100 miles per hour before the driver lost control and crashed. Dimmit County Sheriff Marion Boy told WOAI the crash happened off Highway 85 in Big Wells at about noon.

The sheriff said he didn't know where the immigrants were from but said most migrants who travel through the area are from Central America or Mexico.

He added: "This is a ideal example of why our borders need to be secure". Authorities believe the driver and one passenger are United States citizens. But along with that, there needs to be cameras.
