'Shy' singer blows away America's Got Talent judges

A 13-year-old girl wowed the America's Got Talent judges with her singing and earned Howie Mandel's golden buzzer in the process.

Courtney, from Hesleden, auditioned in front of stars Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel, blowing them away with her powerful voice.

She's not the first British act to do well in America's Got Talent, with Wimbledon ventriloquist Paul Zerdin winning the 2015 series.

Her mum, the Duchess of Cambridge , who often likes to coordinate Charlotte's outfits with hers, was also wearing a summery frock. George, who's known to have an interest in police, was also pictured playing with what looked like a toy knife and handcuffs.

After appearing nervous on stage, Courtney Hadwin performed an energetic rendition of Hard to Handle by Otis Redding, later covered by the Black Crowes.

First she was on "Ellen", then on NBC's "Little Big Shots". "You are not from this era, you are from whole different era", said Howie. Watch the video to see her wonderful performance. "I'm a huge Janis Joplin fan".

Courtney danced around on stage, belting out the lyrics, while everyone in the audience was shocked by the young performer. "I'm not Clive Davis".

And the young talent is no stranger to the limelight of TV, having already stared in the ITV's The Voice Kids previous year.

Before coming to 'America's Got Talent, ' Hadwin previously competed on 'The Voice Kids UK, ' where she made it to the final rounds of competition.
