Trump and Trudeau blame each other for spat at G7 summit

George said Trump's tariffs are going to

A Trudeau spokesman, Cameron Ahmad, said on Saturday night that Mr Trudeau "said nothing he hasn't said before - both in public and in private conversations" with Mr Trump.

Canada's House of Commons stood Monday in defiance of Donald Trump, denouncing his name-calling tirade against Justin Trudeau and endorsing the prime minister's firm response to protectionist USA tariffs and tweeted presidential threats against dairy producers and automakers.

President Donald Trump reprised his criticism of Canada's prime minister Tuesday, threatening that Justin Trudeau's tough exchanges with him over trade policy would "cost a lot of money for the people of Canada".

Immediately after his remarks Saturday, Trump blasted Trudeau's statement as "dishonest & weak" on Twitter and announced the U.S. would not be signing the joint G7 communique - a symbolic but unprecedented move.

Rose McGowan was indicted for cocaine possession by a grand jury on Monday and sis could face up to 10 years in prison. McGowan told The New Yorker's Ronan Farrow that she lost the wallet while flying to D.C. for the Women's March.

The motion calls on the House to recognize the importance of Canada's "long-standing, mutually beneficial trading relationship" with the USA, "strongly oppose" the "illegitimate tariffs" imposed on steel and aluminum, stand "in solidarity" with the Trudeau government's decision to impose retaliatory tariffs and remain united in support of the supply management system of regulating Canada's dairy and poultry industry.

The tweetstorm is the latest fallout from a bad-tempered G7 summit in Quebec, Canada, in which the President found himself at odds with numerous leaders present, largely over his planned tariffs on a range of goods, including steel and aluminum. The Trudeau government has announced it will impose dollar-for-dollar, retaliatory tariffs on metals and a range of other USA products by July 1. Trump imposed steep tariffs on steel and aluminum last month to rebalance trade, he said.

The back-and-forth between Trump and Trudeau highlights the growing tensions between the USA and some the country's closest allies. Canada does have very big advantages over us in terms of trade deficits.

"So at this summit, we expressed deep disappointment at the unjustified decision of the United States to apply tariffs to steel and aluminium imports". Canada exports $300 billion worth of goods to the United States, while the US exports $282.5 billion worth of goods to Canada.

Critics aren't buying the trainer's defense, though. "It baffled me", Repole told the Daily Racing Form on Sunday . "He's now become a household name and I'm looking forward to his next race as much as you guys are", he said.

"Why should I, as President of the United States, allow countries to continue to make Massive Trade Surpluses, as they have for decades, while our Farmers, Workers & Taxpayers have such a big and unfair price to pay?" he wrote.

Kudlow later suffered a "very mild" heart attack, the White House said Monday, but was in good condition.

"And I said, 'push him around?'" Trump said, describing his reaction to the press conference. We just shook hands.

Speaking to reporters from her home country, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called the US' retraction of support for a shared statement "sobering and somewhat depressing". Though the image appeared to speak to the tension between the leaders, Trump said it was captured during a discussion that was "unrelated to anything".

Waiting in the wings are potential big-billions deals involving 21st Century Fox and Disney, Verizon and CBS, T-Mobile and Sprint. And in order to stay competitive, AT&T's CEO Randall Stephenson said during the trial that it needed a big deal to survive.

"I think that those are words that I would not have chosen", Short said.
