U.K. Minister Phillip Lee Resigns Ahead of Brexit Bill Showdown

May pleads for unity on crucial Brexit votes as warnings of Tory rebellion gather pace

Theresa May could claim her first victory in a long time, as parts of the Brexit withdrawal bill are being voted by the UK Parliament, and several Tories have chose to accept the government's view.

Conservative lawmaker Phillip Lee, who had voted to remain in the European Union, resigned as the justice minister so he could speak out against the policy on Brexit.

On the return of the EU Withdrawal Bill for consideration by MPs on Tuesday, the government won all the day's votes as it overturned a series of House of Lords amendments to the key Brexit legislation.

"The Brexit secretary has set out three tests that any new amendment has to meet - not undermining the negotiations, not changing the constitutional role of parliament and government in negotiating global treaties, and respecting the referendum result".

And in a final vote, MPs voted by 326 votes to 301 to disagree with Lords amendment 52 linked to what European Union laws the United Kingdom will keep after Brexit.

But there's one element of the pictures that people aren't all that over-enthusiastic about: Prince George playing with a toy gun. My American side here, biased maybe because of everyday #gunviolence in United States of America , but my British side agrees.

They believe that if there is no Brexit deal by the end of November, the government must clear its next course of action with MPs.

In a day of drama at Westminster, ministers caved into the rebel demands for a "meaningful vote" on Brexit in order to prevent a defeat on the EU Withdrawal bill which could have triggered a leadership crisis for the prime minister.

What is the EU Withdrawal Bill?

That is when Theresa May reportedly gave 15-20 Conservative "rebels" assurances that the government would accept the general meaning of Dominic Grieve's alternative amendment.

Her fellow Conservative backbencher Stephen Hammond said: "Parliament must be able to have its say in a "no deal" situation".

'We have a deal,' say Greece and Macedonia over name dispute
The announcement came after telephone talks with Greek counterpart, Alexis Tsipras, on Tuesday. Zaev said that the deal will be put to a referendum in Macedonia in the autumn.

Asked on BBC Radio 4's Today programme what would happen under Government plans if MPs voted against the deal eventually secured by Mrs May, Mr Davis said: "If they throw it out, well, they throw it out".

A paper laying out the U.K. government position, due to be published this month, has been delayed because the Cabinet can not agree on a united stance.

Britain's highest-selling tabloid, The Sun, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch, addressed lawmakers directly on its front page, saying they faced a choice between "Great Britain or Great Betrayal".

Further clashes were expected on Wednesday during debate on amendments relating to how closely Britain stays aligned with the EU's economy after leaving.

It featured a British flag and the headline: "Ignore the will of the people at your peril".

The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said that the park is city owned and signage is its responsibility. Jim Borrelli, a friend of Matsuki, said she and her husband have walked their dogs in the park previously.

North Down MP Lady Sylvia Hermon said that, in the absence of a functioning assembly in Northern Ireland, it was critically important that MPs had the opportunity to fully examine and discuss the key amendments relating to no hard border and to north/south cooperation.
