Australian rangers capture massive crocodile after 8-year search

The 4.7-metre beast was found in a trap downstream from the northern outback town of Katherine after first being spotted in 2010

A 15-foot, 1,300-pound saltwater croc was captured in Australia.

The crocodile that was captured on Monday will live out its life on a crocodile farm.

Measuring 4.7 metres and weighing in at up to 600 kilograms, the snappy saltie was trapped by rangers in Taylor's Park, around 60 kilometres downstream from the Top End town of Katherine.

This is the second time in a month that Israel has intercepted a drone flying in from Syria. On July 6, Israel struck a Syrian post that it said had shelled the Golan buffer zone.

After nearly a decade on the loose, authorities have finally captured a "monster" Northern Territory crocodile.

The reptile will now "be taken to a croc farm in the Katherine region", she said.

"Yesterday afternoon rangers caught a 4.7m male saltwater crocodile in a trap on private property 60km downstream from Katherine", reads the post, which features a photo of the animal with six Parks and Wildlife employees to provide size comparison.

Prosecutors: Manafort says he's treated like 'VIP' in jail
And in December 2017, Judge Amy Berman Jackson allowed him to temporarily leave house arrest to spend Christmas with his extended family in the Hamptons.

"We've called it a lot of things over the years because it's been so hard to catch", Burke said.

Though the average saltwater crocodile is about 5 meters (17 feet) long, according to National Geographic, captures of this size are rare, park authorities said. It was caught and killed in 1974, also in the Northern Territory.

This move was a long time coming, according to Reuters: the authorities of Australia's Northern Territory have been trying to trap and relocate the creature since 2010. This has sent them farther upstream into freshwater areas. Though it's record-breaking for the area, elsewhere in the wild, saltwater crocodiles can be much larger. Webb said that areas where saltwater crocodiles are the most sparse can be the most unsafe.
