A famous basketball trainer and former UCLA star Billy Knight was found dead in Phoenix on Sunday after leaving behind what is believed to be a suicide note, media sources have revealed. He was only 39 years old. Each season they advanced to the NCAA Tournament under Steve Lavin and reached the regional semifinals in his final three seasons.

The former UCLA Bruin's death took his former teammates and coaches by surprise, especially just days after it was reported that former Bruin and former Sacramento Kings basketball player Tyler Honeycutt shot and killed himself during a standoff with police over the weekend.

Authorities say former UCLA basketball player Billy Knight has died in Phoenix.

The Mericopa County Medical Examiner confirmed Knight's death.
