HTC's blockchain phone is real, and it's arriving later this year

We still don't know the specs though

The Exodus smartphone will be equipped with a cold storage wallet to keep cryptocurrencies offline and safe from cyberattacks, and support decentralized apps, the company said. It can also be used as a mining rig for its users to earn new tokens connected to the Exodus Blockchain.

With the mad rush for blockchain enabled device, Exodus might be a major hit for a company that shipped over 2 million in the first quarter but has thus been able to manage a meager 630,000 in Q1 of this year. But some experts do argue that if the market for blockchain phone does exit then HTC can succeed in cashing on first mover advantage through Exodus.

Meanwhile, industry experts are sharply divided over whether Exodus can really pull off a miracle for HTC.

Chelsea star likes tweet celebrating Conte’s sacking, claims it was an ‘accident’
The episode involving Fabregas was in stark contrast to John Terry , who paid tribute to Conte on Instagram. That success was helped by prolific striker Diego Costa, who scored 20 goals and provided eight assists.

But on Tuesday, the company gave us just a tiny bit more info about the Exodus phone, including something that resembles a launch date.

For HTC, the ultimate goal is to build up an ecosystem of blockchain-friendly apps specifically for this community.

When it was initially announced back in May, Chen had commented that "we envision a phone where you hold your own keys, you own your own identity and data, and your phone is the hub".

Every Exodus phone will boast a universal wallet, and will also act as a node in the blockchain. First revealed earlier in 2018, we now know that the phone will be launching in "early access" later this year.

Siraj's teenage son, Akmal Raisani, had also been killed in an attack during a football match in the same district in 2011. Underscoring the security threat, were Friday's bombings that killed 69 people in the latest election related violence.

Phil Chen, HTC's Decentralisation Chief Officer, told The Verge, in an interview published this week, that the Exodus can be expected toward the latter part of the year, with an official price announcement coming around the end of Q3.

"I want to say it will be available indefinitely everywhere outside of China".

By working with Animoca (the distributor of Cryptokitties) and Bitmark ("the crypto-based digital ownership project"), HTC will be able to further its advancements into the crypto world.

What do you think of CryptoKitties being put on HTC devices?
