Obama lands in Kenya, meets Uhuru and Auma at State House

Former U.S. President Barack Obama arrived in Kenya Sunday, the country of his father's birth, his first visit to this East African country since leaving office.

While welcoming the 44th US President in Kenya Sunday afternoon, President Kenyatta thanked Mr Obama for keeping his promise to visit the country after his service as US president.

EXCITEMENT IN JOHANNESBURG

Obama is also set to meet opposition leader Raila Odinga during his visit to the country, the AP reported.

The President congratulated him for establishing the Obama Foundation which seeks to empower youths to become the agents of change that Africa needs.
