Rosenstein: Trump 'fully aware' of Russian indictments

The fresh indictments related to special counsel Robert Mueller's probe come amid U.S. President Donald Trump's United Kingdom visit, and just hours after he once again called the investigation a "witch hunt".

Rosenstein said at the time that the Russians had waged "information warfare" against the USA during the 2016 campaign, with the aim of "spreading distrust towards the candidates and the political system in general".

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced the indictment during a Friday press conference. "It's what happened exactly".

"The conspirators corresponded with several Americans through the internet", Rosenstein explained, adding, however, that, "The is no allegation in this indictment that the Americans knew they were corresponding with Russian intelligence officers".

Embassy in London , which advised Americans in the country to "keep a low profile" in case the demonstrations turn violent. Reports have indicated that his visit will be met with protests, prompting a warning from the U.S.

"This is a major, major diplomatic breach", said Dana Bash.

Separately, The Daily Beast reported that Mueller's team has determined that the person calling himself Guccifer 2.0, who leaked sensitive DNC documents in the months leading to the 2016 election, is a Russian intelligence officer.

Twelve Russian intelligence officers have been charged with hacking the emails of the Democratic National Committee in one of the most significant developments of the Russia investigation to date.

It comes days before Mr Trump's Helsinki meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, casting a major shadow over the encounter. That includes four former Trump campaign and White House aides and 13 Russians accused of participating in a hidden but powerful social media campaign to sway American public opinion in the 2016 election.

Without him "this mission may not have succeeded", the Thai rescue chief, Narongsak Osottanakorn, told reporters late Wednesday. During the mission to save the boys, a former Thai Navy SEAL Saman Kunam died after volunteering to lend his expertise.

US intelligence agencies have concluded that Russian Federation used propaganda and hacking to meddle in the election in an effort to harm Clinton and eventually help Trump.

As with Mueller's previous indictment against Russians, there is no evidence of "collusion" with any American in any of the defendants' alleged crimes, as Rosenstein emphasized in his announcement.

He has been a frequent target of the commander-in-chief, who has consistently attacked Mueller's investigation as "fake news", "a hoax" and "witch hunt" cooked up by Democrats as an excuse for Clinton's election defeat.
