Trump says bond with UK's May is 'very, very strong'

Protests gear up to greet Trump on UK state visit

British politicians expressed outrage on Friday (July 13) at US President Donald Trump's attack on the government's Brexit strategy, although one leading euro-sceptic said it was "perfectly reasonable".

He added: "Trump gave her some pointers and pulled her off to the side and said "Hey, if I was doing this, here is how tough you have got to be because these guys are not going to let you go".

Before heading for Scotland, the president and Queen Elizabeth II became acquainted over tea at Windsor Castle.

The US President's Scottish sojourn is classed as a private trip because there are no official visits, but taxpayers face a £5million bill for policing protests while he is there.

"Take a look at the terrorism that is taking place", Trump said.

"(Until) I remember her desperate rush to invite him, her repeated reluctance to criticise his Muslim ban or caging of children, her chasing him for a bad trade deal.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Multiplayer Beta Begins Early Next Month
PlayStation 4 owners will get an early crack at the multiplayer beta, with an exclusive beta running August 3-6. At the time of filing this story the game hasn't been made available for pre-order at local retail just yet.

Anthony Gardner, who was ambassador to the European Union to former president Barack Obama, said Trump's attack was "totally unacceptable" and "unprecedented" in the middle of a high-profile visit.

He will spend the weekend with wife Melania in Scotland, where he owns two luxury golf courses.

Another Twitter user re-jigged the lyrics to Atomic Kitten's "Whole Again", writing: "Looking back on when we first met, I cannot escape and I cannot forget, Donald, you're the one, You still turn me on, You can hold my hand again".

Trump, who arrived in Britain on Thursday, told the Sun newspaper that planned protests against him in London and other British cities made him feel unwelcome so he was avoiding the capital as much as possible.

But Trump said: "If they do a deal like that, we would be dealing with the European Union instead of dealing with the United Kingdom, so it will probably kill the deal".

"Fortunately, we tend to record stories now so we have it for your enjoyment if you'd like it", he said.

The artist admits that he hasn't actually spoken to McGregor directly, but has been communicating with him through a friend. Some of the decisions he makes might not be correct, but none of us are ideal."And now it's officially weird".

"Theresa May should condemn Trump for this ugly dog-whistle politics, and apologise for Zac Goldsmith's disgraceful London mayoral campaign, which these remarks echo". I would actually say that she probably went the opposite way.

At the same location a week ago, May finally won agreement for her Brexit plans from her cabinet after two years of tortuous internal wrangling.

Addressing a joint press conference at the end of their bilateral talks at the prime minister's country residence, Chequers, Trump said, "She's a total professional".

Downing Street said Mrs May had presented the USA president with a gift of an illustrated ancestral chart of his Scottish heritage through his mother, and his wife with a bespoke perfume called the First Lady in a custom bottle.

Trump also said former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who quit this week over May's Brexit plan, would make a "great prime minister".

"I guess when they put out blimps to make me feel unwelcome, no reason for me to go to London", Trump said. "He is thankful for the wonderful welcome from the prime minister here in the U.K".
