Rare "Firenado" Erupts As Firefighters Battle Factory Blaze

David Meredith, 74, who co-owns the firm, said the fire started after midnight when three people were still in the factory.

A video recorded by firefighters and posted to Twitter by Leicestershire's fire department captured the event, showing a slim streak of fire reaching into the sky amid a visible whirlwind storm that resembled a twister.

While fighting a massive blaze on Tuesday, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue in England caught video of what it dubbed a "firenado".

This rare phenomenon is known as a "firenado" and happens when cool air hits the top of the hot air, causing it to swirl.
